Yields up to 8l of substrate | 100% peat-free from renewable raw materials | No. 1 basic substrate in worm composting

Coconut fiber is a natural and high-quality substrate for your plants , insect larvae or worm colonies . In the plant world, you can use the fibers to grow seeds and cuttings. In combination with net pots, it is also a very suitable planting substrate for NFT or DWC systems in aquaponics. In addition, coconut fibers are also very suitable as a base substrate for raising black soldier fly larvae or as a starting substrate in the worm composter.

A compressed substrate brick made of pressed coconut fibers is supplied. The compressed brick swells up to 8 times its size in a water bath and can be used to produce around 8 liters of substrate. The dissolved substrate is enough to start up a worm composter and a BSFL farm from OFERA. If you want to use the substrate for your plants in net pots, one brick is enough for around 80 net pots .

Use as plant substrate

Place the brick in a lukewarm water bath and wait a little until it absorbs water. Then remove the moist coconut fibers. Place these in the net pots together with the young plants and then place them in your NFT or RAFT aquaponics system. Alternatively, you can also use the substrate to grow young plants in the seed tray.

Use as insect larvae or worm substrate

Place the brick in a lukewarm water bath and wait a little until it absorbs water. Then remove the moist coconut fibers. Distribute these in the composting container of your BSFL farm or in the worm composter. Then add the larvae or worms of your starter colony.
