Buy Aquaponics Fish & Sump Tank
The fish tank is the habitat of the fish. Each system consists of at least one fish tank. In larger systems, several fish tanks are combined. Sump tanks are often located at a lower level and usually function as technical tanks. Here you will find a selection of fish and sump tanks for your aquaponics project.
Here we offer you beautiful fish and sump tanks for your aquaponics project. We place particular emphasis on the function in connection with the appearance. This means you can build or expand your system and at the same time show off the beautiful appearance of the wood. The low tanks can not only be used as single fish tanks, but also in combination as a sump tank with a higher round tank due to their low construction height. (e.g. for a CHOP system construction)
Dimensioning the fish tank
One of the first questions is of course how big a fish tank should be. The simple answer is: It depends. 😀 For example, if you only want to use ebb and flow grow beds for mechanical and biological filtration, the fish tank volume should not be more than twice your total grow bed volume (= substrate, grow media). If that is not possible, you should try to install additional solids and biological filtration in your system, or make the fish tank smaller.
Number of Fish Tanks
A simple aquaponics system consists of a fish tank. There is actually no upper limit. Depending on the size of your system, you may also want to consider combining several tanks. With CHOP (= Constant Height One Pump) solutions, this happens anyway by combining them with a fish tank. But connecting several tanks together can also make sense. Multiple tanks have the advantage that you can sort your fish more easily, which has a positive effect on growth.
