The Kitchen Edition is the more elegant version of the OFERA ® Mealworm Farm. It was specially developed for indoor spaces such as the kitchen, storage room or pantry. This means you can use up kitchen and food scraps right there in the immediate vicinity and the Mealworm Farm fits even better into the room concept. The farm works in the same way as the standard version, but has an attractive white design. The system remains escape-proof thanks to the smooth-molded trays and is odorless when used properly.
With the mealworm farm from OFERA ® Breeding mealworms is very easy and space-saving. The sophisticated system of automatic beetle-larvae separation saves you a lot of time, as the laborious separation of beetles and larvae is no longer necessary.
You only place some of the pupated larvae in the upper part of the farm to preserve your beetle colony for reproduction. To speed up this process, you can find helpful tools such as our larvae-pupae separator scoop or the practical sieve set , which offers you even more options for sorting.
The farm's integrated hatching ramp allows the pupated larvae to hatch safely and in isolation, far away from the beetles. This prevents the cannibalism that is common among insects and significantly increases your breeding output. The mealworm farm is escape-proof thanks to the smooth-sprayed containers and is therefore also suitable for indoor use such as the kitchen or storage room.
The beetle insert (Tray-A) offers space for up to 5 liters of substrate (e.g. cereal flakes or bread crumbs) and thus the habitat for several thousand beetles to breed. The freshly laid eggs of the females or already hatched baby larvae automatically fall through the separation unit to the next level to grow into adult larvae = mealworms.
The output of larvae, with a fully populated beetle colony, is up to 1000 grams of larvae/month. The system is practically stackable and can easily be expanded with additional larvae trays to scale your breeding.
