Modular design | 15l capacity per module | Small space requirement
This worm composter has a modular design. You start with one module and add the next level after a few weeks. Additional level modules are also available separately and can be added as needed. The worms automatically move to where there is fresh food. You can gradually harvest fresh humus in the lower modules. As with our larger continuous flow worm composter, you can quickly and easily turn your organic waste, newspaper or packaging cardboard into high-quality humus. Two levels/modules are enough for a household of 1-2 people. You can expand up to 4 modules. As a rule of thumb: around 1 module per person in the household.
You start with the basic module and an add-on module. On this first level, you first add basic substrate such as natural paper shreds or coconut fiber and moisten it. Then you add a starter colony of compost worms and let them settle in. After a few days, you put the first organic waste into the container. We recommend covering each layer of food with newspaper, our compostable natural paper shreds or our worm blanket. This prevents the compost from drying out, binds moisture and odors and prevents unwanted insects such as fruit flies from settling there. The worms always live where there is fresh food. When the first module is full, you stack another module on top and fill it with fresh food.
